:D Hi everyone and PocketGPS World, keep up the excellant work and great site. :D
Great news for all TomTom navigator (Pocket PC) fans, I have discovered that the TomTomGo maps work with TomTom Navigator 3.07! i.e you get the M6 toll road etc and the updated TeleAtlas's maps.
I have been playing around with my TomTomGo maps and found they actually work with TomTom Navigator 3.07, just replace your Navigator 3.07 map folders on your SD card with the Go ones, its that easy! and no patching etc. I still use Checkpoint 3.2 for my Speed Camera announcments, and this still works with the Go maps!
I have now deleted all my TomTom Navigator 3.07 maps and replaced them with the TomTomGo maps and they work great!, including the maps of western europe as well!.
I appreciate that not everyone will have have both the TomTomGo and TomTom Navigator 3.07 PPC, but if you do you can now get the best of both worlds.
(Maybe one of your friends has the TomTomGo, and you have a TomTom Navigator PPC, problem sorted.)
Thanks again to PocketGPs World for the best GPS site. |

TomTom sell the maps for GO seperately on SD cards. They cost almost as much as a copy of TomTom tho! |

Dare I mention licencing issues?
So If I am right, I can "borrow" a mate's copy of Go, and his SD card and copy them onto my one GB SD card and hey presto I get last October's maps?
Sound flawless, but illegal. Therefore I will not be doing this, of course _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

I tested your theory and it works!

Hi
Loaded em to a CF Card, changed the registry to point there too, but no luck, keeps wanting to load from the SD Card. I assume somethings hard coded in the mapping files.....
All comments welcome!

This is what I did:
1. Copied the folder "Great-Britain-Map" from the Go card to the root level of an SD card.
2. Inserted in to PPC
3. Staredt tomtom
4. Chose "Switch map"
5. Enjoyed new map. _________________ Everywhere and nowhere

Forgot to add:
6. Realised this was probably breaking EULA.
7. Set fire to SD card in hope of absolution.
. . . . .
8. Noticed typo in previous post
etc . . . _________________ Everywhere and nowhere

Don't see any problem with the post you refer to Bob.
Postcode searches and Checkpoint work fine with the GO maps for me _________________ Everywhere and nowhere

I've tried searching on Speedcamera in the author field but it comes up blank and there are over 60 pages of posts with apparently no way to go to a given page number. |
