Hi I rieceved The Tomtom (HP iPQ rz 1710) Navigation pack over christmas, and being a complete newbie I signed up to the tt trafic. Download it from tt's link, and installed it to the iPAQ, but I cannot get it to work, am I right in thinking that I should have a GPRS service provider ie:Orange, or does it work with the GPRS unit that was supplied.
Many thanks in advance Question

Firstly, I'm not sure there is a way to use TomTom Traffic with the HP Navigation Pack. This doesn't use TomTom Navigator 3 - it uses a TomTom "common platform" program.

GPS isn't GPRS. One gives you positions, the other gives you Internet access on the move.

TomTom Traffic needs a way of accessing the Internet on the move to get the traffic information from the server. When using TomTom Traffic on a Pocket PC (like your iPAQ rz1710) rather than a Pocket PC Phone Edition or SmartPhone, the Internet connection is usually a GPRS capable mobile phone with a mobile phone subscription that includes GPRS Internet access.

Some mobile networks restrict GPRS Internet access to contract customers and may make you request it explicitly - Orange UK allows pre-pay users to use GPRS Internet access but you may have to request it. If you're using a Pocket PC and mobile phone, the two are usually connected over Bluetooth.
