my satnav cant get me home

I have a blaupunkt DX-52 with 2003 mapping s/w
but when i program my home destination using the memorise current postion feauture whilst parked in my drive and store it in the memory.
I go out for a drive.
When returning home (or any other destination for that matter i try, using the same method) it tells me to drive on past my destination and in the case of home for 1.6 miles.
Whilst i know the post code system is only inaccruate to 4 characters (another pain) it should surely be able to get me to the memorised absolute destination

log dd.mm.ss.

Anyone else had simular experiances...
