Ok, I have finally got TTN3 and set it up. Worked first time :D

Now I have looked at TomTom traffic but the TomTom site does not seem to explain it properly (to my understanding anyway). I know it runs as standalone but does it plug into TTN3 to adjust the routes around bad traffic etc?

It's not a standalone product, if you subscribe you get an updated version of TomTom that includes the Traffic Services and adds a Traffic Tab.

When activated it integrates such that traffic alerts can be viewed on the map and you can browse the traffic situation at any given location. You can also choose to either have TT automatically re-route around incidents or select re-routes manually.

Hi Dave

tt trafic downloads the traffic information via a gprs internet connection. It identifies any problems on your route such as jams, accidents, etc and displays them on screen.

It also gives you the expected delay time. You can choose to automatically reroute or decide for yourself or you can 'minimise delays' (i believe this decides wether its worth rerouting by comparing delay time with a detour time).

You can set traffic to automatically download information at set intervals or do it manually. but you will pay your phone co. for each Mb you d/l

I hope this helps

Regards

Cool, cheers guys. Thanx for the fast response!

That is what i was hoping, but from the information i could see on TomToms site it seemed to be a standalone.

Once again, thanx.

Traffic looks great :D just wish it didn't direct me through the traffic :D

It registered a 3 minute delay on my journey today. It took me 20 mins. Oh well, suppose it can't be better than the human typing the information into the system.
