Has anybody hardwired a Navman ?

My power socket is in between the 2 seats, so the power lead reaches across to the corner of the screen and into the Navman like a clothes line - so I'd like to drop a cable down behind the dashboard.

Does Navman offer such a thing, or has anyone made an equivalent cable ?

Cheers,

Rob.

I.ve hardwired the power supply lead for my 630 into my Citroen C8. The supplied power lead contains a +12v to +5v regulator so unless you make up a replacement circuit you should use the supplied navman lead. The electronics are very well designed, surface mount stuff with loads of protection. I included an on/off switch so that I can remotely 'kill' the battery feed to the voltage regulator (original lead) so as not to drain down the battery if the car is left sitting for a couple of days.
