Speedtrap Alert for Android (Split from CamerAlert Thread re

I cannot claim to be an expert on Android Auto having only got a car with Android Auto yesterday, but STA does not seem to be compatible with Android Auto in the sense that the app cannot be accessed from the car's display. I might want to use the car's navigation in the dashboard and have STA in the car's other display.

Thanks, I will give it a go over Bluetooth. Having the speedometer on the car's display would be great.

Anyone else noticed that Speed Trap Alert not on the Android play store anymore. Hope this isn't another app that I've paid for that bites the dust.

Has anyone had similar to the below and found the solution?

When using the app with only the blue circle displayed over other apps after a few minutes it stops working, it doesn't display your speed anymore as if it loses GPS? (Location is still on and other apps can access it). I have followed the battery optimisation steps on the developer website but issue persists? Great app by the way great to have an option for Android 11. Thanks

Edit: I have found that the phone turned battery optimisation back on for the app, despite me switching it off. Would updating the database reset the app in some way and default the battery optimisation?

I've never had optimisation auto turn back on but there was a new version this week.

The only important setting is the Location permission that needs to be 'allow always' and not 'only when active' as it goes to sleep.

The one change I have noticed is that I can no longer use Dropbox as my intermediate platform.

I had to reinstall and link OneDrive.

I have had some problems on Android 11 on a Pixel.

I re enabled location all the time and battery optimisation is off, but alerts are hit and miss.

There's a lot of settings here ! What are the ones you MUST have on please ?
(also is the beta version more aimed at Android 11, or is it unreliable ?)
Updating the database is the easy bit.

As you say, there are a lot of settings.

The important bit if running STA in the background is to allow location all the time.

Other than that I just went through setting them to what I wanted.

Never had any issues.

I can't remember what the beta gives you.

Are you not getting alerts when passing some cameras ?
