Is the facility to add POI's in 'My places' meant for adding speed cameras, as it only allows one file at a time, and I read on another thread that it doesn't allow alerts or show icons?

I cannot find a way of viewing the device as a drive on my PC to add files that way either. Is this Tomtom's way of making people buy camera updates from them?

Thanks

Yes, yes and yes

TT's now have no facility to add third party speed cameras that require proximity alerts.

Thanks for the reply. How do I know if the third party speed camera files I have require proximity alerts? I got them from here:

Thanks

They all do or they are useless.

No good telling you you're speeding as you're passing the camera

The only use they will be is to enable you to easily navigate to them. But it won't tell you that you are getting there though.

TomTom no longer allow you to load POIs and get an alert when you are approaching them (proximity alert). Thus loading any sort of speed cameras would be a waste of time as the device will NOT tell you when you are approaching them.

Not a waste of time at all.

I have the PGPSW camera database on my TomTom and am using different colours for camera types. I can visually see them on the map while driving and so I know when am approaching a mobile camera site.

I do use Waze in combination with this, and both systems work well for me.
