I installed the POI cams into my Audi MMI system and of course i was thrilled to go for a ride.

i found a fair amount of camera's which does not excist anymore in my city and these can be verified through Google Maps in Street View mode.

Are these eligible for a life time subscription?

One year is all you get nowadays !

(Giving lifetime subs was unsustainable).

Hi Yzord and welcome. Yes, as a subscriber, you would qualify for a free1year subscription (maximum 1 per release per subscriber) once the removal request has been confirmed.

You can submit these removals via the map here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras&op=SubmitCamera

Cheers

Ok, i tried to add many many speedcams (Netherlands map is really outdated), but when i use that form and place the speedcam icon on the map and i do "autofill current Value" it says

Quote:
Geocode was not successful for the following reason: INVALID_REQUEST

With all the cams i try to upload. Also traffic is very busy there, so i cannot stand still to check what the gps coordinates are.

How are the submitters doing it?

EDIT: Ok, i submitted one with the use of Google Maps and their point entry for the coordinates.

but how can i see what i have submitted? Because i have a fair amount of speedcams to submit/delete. i want to oversee what i already did. is that possible?

Are you using the link on the right "we need you" ?

It is a faff to zoom into the location you want but when there shuffle the map to get the blue icon point to exactly where you need then 'accept location' and fill in the various boxes.

Once you've done a few it's plain sailing.

Yes, i use that form and I did zoom in all the way, but it is not accepting the location spot. Don't know why. I use Google maps now to locate the geo coordinates and paste that into the form. Works also.

But i also would like to see my submissions, because i have a lot to submit or edit.

In fact, this database is not trustworty for a Dutch guy like me, because it is very very old. The speedcams which are in it and not there anymore on location were removed 10 years ago. The new ones were placed around 8 years ago.

So i want to contribute to this database, no problem, but i cannot rely on it. Which i kinda sad, because i paid for it Sad

Once you have sucessfully submitted a camera via the form you should get email confirmation within a few hours, I do.

I don't understand why your submissions aren't working.

Ok, i added a total of 15 (!!) RedSpeed camera's only for the city of Arnhem Netherlands. I also drove into another city yesterday and even that one is very inaccurate.

I can safely say that the map for Holland is very inaccurate and old. Will contact support about a refund or that they accept me as a lifetime member and i will update the Dutch card as far as possible Smile

You don't get lifetime membership any more. You get a year at a time.

The database for any country is only as good as the submissions.

Well i surely want to help to update the database for Holland, but not for just 20 pounds a year. All speedcams in Holland are updated with digital camera's as also their locations so i have to redo whole Holland as i found out with only Arnhem today.

This is going to take a lot of time from me and i am willing to spend it, but not just for 20 pounds. Only today i was busy for 4 to 5 hours and that was just one city.

And all the effort i pay into it will be resold by PGPSW and that doesn't sound fair. Again, no problem, but only the sun comes up for free ;)

So spread the submissions out... Do some this week - 1 year free once confirmed. If some are confirmed the following week then that would be another free year... Wink
