With the missing alert .... have a close look at your alert distance and 'angle cone' setting and then compare that with your approach.

We had one here a while ago that wasn't giving a warning. That was because the road was being turned into, from a 90 degree angle, within the alert distance so missed. I seem to recall he had his warning set to 30+ seconds and the time to the camera from joining the road was only 10 to 15 seconds.

If that makes sense

I'm heading towards it in a virtual straight line only a very slight bend to the left

That mobile is trapping westbound only and there is that bend in the road to the east, as you approach.

Can you check your warning timing and experiment with a shorter time.

I know by default CA does apply 30 seconds(ish) but I reduce mine to half that.

Reduce the additional Mobile range ?

Possibly, how far is that camera from the bend and at 30mph could be outside of the trapping distance ?

What do you have your main alert distance (time) set to ?

At 30mph, 30 secs warning would occur at 402 metres (439 yards). If that bend is further away than that then your angle of travel would be NW and a 45° cone, default setting, would miss that camera.

This is getting technical Smile

That'll do. Reduce it to zero and see if that is the problem. Then experiment a bit to get a good warning time. But bear in mind that a mobile can 'get you' up to just over half a mile, and that one would likely trap you as you come out of the left hand bend. The cause also might be the acceptance angle, as your direction up to the bend, which appears to be about 150 yards from the site, is about 40 degrees different to the trap azimuth of the camera which is something like 245 degrees. Cameras 'hiding around bends' are a bit of a problem with directional systems.

Remember it won't alert at all if you are travelling east. (unless you have ignore direction set)

Blimey

I have 40 seconds range for normal warnings.

As far as the bend goes, I normally approach the camera
Head on , the bend AFTER the camera is to the RIGHT sharply.
There is only a slight bend in the road as you approach the camera.

to be honest, some of these settings fry my brain !

Also , right near my house I get warned of a mobile up the road, turn left and on a junction ! I did the maths and its exactly 45 seconds (or whatever it was) away at 30mph, the same time setting as my default warning was.
I can just about handle picturing a warning "cone" that can be narrowed or widened.

so I get warned of the one roads away to the left, and not one that's practically head on !

Shocked

You said a couple of posts back the right hand bend was after the camera ...... no it isn't because the camera is only trapping westbound.

Heading eastbound towards the bend you won't get a warning.

bit confused, but

I approach the camera head on going eastbound towards the severe right bend, the police mobile always face west towards oncoming traffic leaving the Starbucks roundabout, driving east

(you would be going away from, and having come around the sharp bend driving west)

coming off the roundabout , on the virtually straight road . this is where i am not getting an audible alert going east. i used to get one, and even with the same settings as came with the app "as stock"
off the roundabout, just as you pass the 1st left turn is where the alert *should* activate as you approach the mobile

is this any clearer ? Laughing

Your last post saying that it is facing west, trapping eastbound indicates that we have got the heading of the camera wrong as we have got it trapping westbound. But at least that would explain why it doesn't alert for eastbound traffic and the bend is possibly the reason for it not alerting when westbound.
How many times have you actually seen the camera in operation there and how recently?

I would suggest you visit the submission page and enter a change to make the mobile camera either reversible or eastbound.

As it stands we now know 100% why you are not getting eastbound warnings.

What's changed ..... have you changed devices or settings from non directional to directional ?
