I just followed the instructions and thought those were the two files to use. I never converted, but just copied the ones in the download?

Did I miss something?

Just looking around at other sites and https://www.scdb.info/en/plugin-mercedes-comand-online/ says "** no support for NTG 5.5 units in new Mercedes E-Class (W213)" for the .gpx format. Sad

GPX probably not. Some inbuilt Garmin based Navs now require you to have pre-converted them to GPI, which requires POILoader.

Worth investigating.

How do I know whether I need to use POI Loader or gpx files which you download from these websites?

I downloaded the Great Britain GPX package from speedcamupdates.com for 7.99eur.

I have an April 2016 GLA with Comand Online. I *think* it's Command NTG 5.5.

I formatted my sd card to FAT32, created a folder called PersonalPOI, added multiple gpx files for Great Britain only but it's stuck at importing data (process may take several minutes).

Can someone please help?

Did I download a gpx package from a dodgy website perhaps?

Thanks,
Andreas

All done...

After I realised that there should be only the 2 GPX files in the 'PersonalPOI' file.....

Just tried a test set of data from the free POI's and it worked in my car (2017 SL) however, I'm unsure which version of Comand I have.

Will be subscribing and getting the cameras....

Nemesis1 did a lot of work on his Merc Nav using my CSV to GPX Converter. He found that the warning text needed to be capitals for it work and some elements/specjal characters needed removing.

I included a text change screen in the Converter to speed this up.

After a couple of attempts I've just managed to get the cameras up and running on Comand Online version NTG 5.1

Thanks to Ellick and wartklin for your instructions.

What made the difference for me was to download and unpack the database contents onto my desktop, THEN copy just the two gpx files onto a freshly formatted (FAT32) SD card.

On the first attempt, when I downloaded the database straight onto the SD card, unpacked it and deleted the unnecessary files, it failed.

I hope this clarification helps someone.

Had anyone had any repeatable success with this?

I still cannot get it to work. If I use a freshly formatted SD card with nothing on it then the System says there is no Nav system found on the card!

If I just put the 2 files in the PersonalPOI folder off the root of the Nav card, it's like the system doesn't even know they are there and I can't find anyway of 'seeing' them.

If it helps anyone, my system says it is:
Name NTG5E
Software Version 17/41.0 40.60
Other Info n5 A V1

Thanks in advance.

Hi I am thinking of renewing my subscription to Speed cam database. I have just purchased a MB C class, with Audio 20. I have managed to get the UK speed camera database from here working,
https://www.pocketnavigation.de/pois/garmin-map-pilot-mercedes-blitzer/
But the mobiles don't seem to show and no icons on the map just a banner at the top with a bong sound. Can someone tell me if I can get the mobiles in PocketGPS worlds database working on my system before I subscribe?

And does the instruction guide work for Audio 20 systems?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi guys

I have successfully downloaded and installed the .gpx files needed to get the camera warnings and beeps on my system. To do this, I had to create a folder called PersonalPOI and just copy the .gpx files to it. This is working well and all is as it should be.

Now... I would like to expand on this and add the .wav files to get rid of the aforementioned beep. This is where I require some help.

I have downloaded the POILoader exe and installed it. I have downloaded and extracted Sox.exe and copied that to the POILoader directory, as your picture above.

I have downloaded the .wav files that I need by following your step by step guide above but when I run the POILoader software, it generates a POILoader.gpi file which obviously needs to be a .gpx to run in my system.

I'm not quite sure what to do next and am a bit confused about the .bmp, .csv, .wav stage.

Could you point me in the right direction please?
Confused

If your system requires the individual GPX files then you can ignore POIloader as that, as you say, creates a GPI file that the vast majority of Garmin units read.

All SOX does is matches GPX/CSV and WAV into the GPI for spoken alerts. No GPI no match.

If putting identically named WAV files into the GPX folder doesn't work then I'd be asking on a Merc forum where you are more likely to find others who may have a ploy
