Is it possible on a Drivesmart 50 to permanently avoids a road on the map?

There is a road near where I live that the Garmin always tries to direct me down, but in reality it is blocked by bollards halfway down so you cannot drive all the way through like the Garmin thinks.

On my old Tom Tom under map corrections I could correct maps to avoid a certain road only on my device as well as submit permanent corrections.

Is there a feature like this on the Garmin?

I wish Garmin would make it an option to be able to block roads using Base Camp as it would be much easier doing it on a computer than on the sat nav.

Well you can on BaseCamp. The issue is that the devices won't accept them, at least they haven't when I've tried. Would be good if they did.

Sure I posted a reply, seems to have disappeared Confused

Problem with trying to block a road is that it works, but inevitably the new map update breaks it and makes the road navigable again. Got fed up keep adding the same roads, just have to ignore the unit when it tries to send me down there now, until it knows that I know better. Good luck getting Garmin to change stuff. I have reported gated private roads leading to nowhere, labelled as navigable and waited over 2 years for them to be implemented. Garmin need something similar to TT Mapshare to make them more reliable.

Yet some changes I've reported were there in the next update, and a completely new housing estate on the map a month after it opened.

Where do you report yours then? I was pointed to a site somewhere (can't remember it now as I gave up with the lack of response from my corrections), but not sure it was direct to Garmin, more the mapping company.

Done it both ways. Either direct to HERE or via Garmins report a map error page.

I may be wrong about this (and I'll soon find out when the next map update comes out) but I seem to recall that if you mark an area, rather than a road, that gets retained after a map update. On that presumption, I have marked all my blocked roads as areas and I'm hoping I won't lose them.
