Got myself a nice new 50 with the digital traffic......wonderful device, love the voice control......however, it's going back to John Lewis.

I cannot live with the reflections.....compared to my old Nuvi 1390 it is a real backwards step.

I must say my first impressions on opening it in the house were very favourable but once attached on my dash that wonderful sexy looking screen becomes a nightmare.

Searching back through the posts on here it seems I should have done more research......

I agree that the latest glass fronts do cause distracting reflections if not positioned just so.

Mine is pointing towards the centre of the roof lining and is fine.

I've tried pointing it every which I can this morning but nothing alleviates the problem sufficiently for me.......was considering one of the stick-on anti-glare / protector thingies but I read they aren't too effective.

Very disappointed.

Must say I have no issues with mine. Have you tried adjusting screen brightness? Mine is set at 70%.

Also where do you put it? Mine is where I've always placed a satnav, lower right of screen.

It sits on the dash in the right hand corner, I get the reflection of my hand on the steering wheel at best and lots more at worst.

Setting the brightness to 100% improves things slightly.

Going to try later with it on a Belkin mount attached to a central air vent.

I've ordered a anti-glare protector but I'm not too hopeful the central mount and or the anti glare screen will cure it.....we'll see.

What vehicle are you in? As I said, never had an issue with mine in a Ford Focus ...

Mine is bottom right corner as well, on a Garmin quick release dash mount.

Mine must be higher, or the wheel lower because I don't have that issue either......oh, hang on, I hold my wheel at 20 past 8 not 10 to 2.

Or, because I'm using a dash mount I have more lateral movement. If it was windscreen mounted it wouldn't tilt as far back.

Well, the 5" mirror is not as bad when bolted to the central air vent. Tilted back a little with the brightness on 100% improves the situation, but I can still see some of the overhead console outline and bright-work together with some roof lining detail reflected clearly, especially in sunlight.

Perhaps today being very bright was not the best day for 'first impressions'........?

I'm pinning my hopes on a bloody expensive bit of 3M anti-glare film currently winging its way to me.

There was a number of cheaper (German origin) stick on film protectors on e-bay but the high number of negative reviews put me off.

Please let us know how this works out as I am thinking of getting an anti glare.

I had the same problem - virtually unreadable in sunlight.
I eventually bought an anti-glare screen protector from www.boxwave.com They are USA based but it wasn't particularly expensive (about 15 USD)
Solved the problem - well worth the money.
