Hi All,
The other day I travelled south down the M5, through the newish 'smart' section near Droitwich. Further down, between jcts 5 & 6 (somewhere I haven't been for ages), there were a series of mini gantries, each with a speed camera sign and a blank dot matrix sign.

Here's a pic from my dashcam (apologies for tiny-ness):

There were loads of them, and I was trying to work out if they are cameras, or just signs to make you think (the smart section is way behind you at this point). They didn't appear in the CamerAlert app that was running on my smartphone, though further down it does flag a mobile camera zone.

They appeared to have some kind of hardware attached but I couldn't really make it out - maybe just a traffic monitoring camera and related gubbins? Or something worth worrying about?

I didn't want to find out the hard way... Thanks for any comments.

Hi, and welcome to PGPSW forum.
The pick in your post is just a warning sign that you are in a camera speed check zone.
There are pics of the common UK speed cameras on THIS page (and some 'not cams'.

Thanks for your reply M8TJT, and for that informative link.

You'll have gathered I'm a newbie subscriber, so that page will stop me from cluttering up the place with junk submissions when I finally graduate to submitting info!
