I've compared the AlcoSense to an alcometer to show it is broadly accurate. So why would having someone run tests the morning after demonstrate that this is any more effective at measuring BAC?

Well the reason is although we know the test is done on blood alcohol levels, and is exactly the same test the morning after as on the night of the drinking, the human experience at each time is quite different.

We all know what it feels like to have had a few drinks and to no longer be safe to drive, but it doesn't feel the same the morning after, you may well have no apparent symptoms. Therefore it would be reassuring to know that the tests correctly detected that you weren't safe to drive, even if you felt fine.

Sorry mistyped, it should read; Well the reason is although we know the test is done on blood alcohol levels, and is exactly the same test the morning after as on the night of the drinking.

Interesting stuff. I've always wondered what 2-3 pints of ale gives. I might suggest my local gets one of these.

In terms of metrics, I found this:

Unit of measurement currently used in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus and Singapore: micrograms of alcohol per one hundred millilitres of breath

Usually abbreviated as – µg/100ml [or µg/100mL, or µg/%]

A typical format for a measurement result expressed in this unit is 35, with the likely range being from 0 to 200
