I'll give mine a go tomorrow.

M9 already connects to the car automatically and to my 2597 test rig for Smartlink, I just havent tried both together.

Just need to remember Confused

Yes mine works and tested on

Windows Phone Lumia 640xl
Windows mobile Lumia 950xl
Apple iPhone 6s plus
Nexus 6p
Motorola Moto Style
Nexus 5
LG G4

All fine so I would presume your HTC will too

Believe anything with Bluetooth 4.0 and above should be fine

Couldn't live without my multiple connections 😀

Yes it works - but there is a proviso......

When you connect the Garmin it has an option to allow the Garmin to connect to your phones 'telephone' side. This has to be disabled which in my case is on the phone and is called 'phone audio'.

If not then the car HFT shows as connected but it shows on mine as 'connected no phone'.

I need to do more testing as even after I disable the 'phone audio' it keeps turning itself back on when next connected.

Looks like it's possible so if Inrix plays up I have an alternative.

Yes I find after I connect a new phone I get the hands free connection on the Garmin for 1 or a few multiple attempts afterwards and VERY occasionally after that

I've unpaired the Garmin and when repaired and it asks for permission to access the phone and contacts I said no.

Still seems to connect via Smartlink so so far so good.

Given the reports here that the x9 and latest units don't work too well with Smartlink I'll keep it as a backup.

What I may do is run both units side by side next time I'm out and see if there is a difference.

2597 via Smartlink
2599 via Inrix

Both 'connected' but car HFT not connected:

Not showing as connected but Smartlink is working:

What I needed to disable:
