just bought a garmin nuvi 2548 today, and on my earlier post (first post) was advised by a couple of very knowledgeable gents to back up all the folders on my new garmin before i did anything else, but they did not know how to find the hidden folder's/files on the device.
So i did a bit of searching and came across this you tube video,so for anyone with a mac you may find this very helpful as i did it worked for me,so click on the link below
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POFTJm-pchY&app=desktop

i wrote it all down on A4 first then did what it said to make sure it worked, then printed it off to be nice and neat

Hope this help's anyone with a mac

Just be aware it's not simply hidden folders but system folders to reveal the necesary .system folder, not sure if that video works for that too?

Just discovered this Garmin FAQ which explains all

There is a great utility called TinkerTool that enables you to set up all sorts of non destructive settings on a Mac. This program protects you from delving into Terminal

See

It is free to download and use.

Enjoy
