With what extra features do you have in mind? Laughing

The team that developed CamerAlert (for both Android and iOS) spend a lot of time redeveloping the CamerAlert code. They only release a new version when they are happy with the new version.

If you can think of any new features that would be useful for CamerAlert then please let the team know here.

Regards,

From the Newsletter, dated Jan 10th, 2014

Android users will be delighted to hear that we're devoting some time to a long overdue update of CamerAlert for that platform. We're currently working to harmonise features across both platforms, fix some bugs and refine the UI.

That's good news! Well one feature that would help me is the addition of "Fixed, Variable speed" category in "Which cameras to warn about"

Also, and i dont know if this is possible, some control over the length of time the music in your car is turned down for the warning message to play. IE i have female voice selected, and she ususally says "Mobile camera zone, 30 miles per hour"
Now i know you can select shorter messages option, but even with that selected, there appears to be a pause before, and especially after the message finishes, before the music volume comes back up.

Perhaps this 'dead time' is a fixed value, and cannot be changed? just a thought anyways.

Also a few more warning sounds please, like the bell from the beginneing of the 'Crystal Chime' you guys have for download.

Chrs!

They are covered under the 'fixed' cameras option. Can you explain why you would want to turn off/on variable speed limits but not other fixed camera speeds?

As far as I am aware this is a 'fixed' time from the Android OS. It's part of the API for playing audio when other autio is being played.

Not sure what 'Crystal Chime' you're referring to but 'new sounds' is a common request. I'm sure we can get some added at some point.

Hello again, i wanted seperate section for "fixed - variable" because all the cameras of this type i have seen are not active unless theres some kind of traffic management underway, ie on the M62 between Leeds and Bradford. You also get a huge display telling you what speed limit is right above road on the over-motorway display system.

Plus it would mean i could turn those off, and not have my music interrupted 5 times every time i'm driving to/from work !

Oh the CrystalChime thing is a zip format available on this site:-

I might have a go at editing it to get just the chime bit if i can find a sound proggy somewhere...

Audacity - Free download from somewhere (when anybody else gives this information, they also include a link, but I'm thick!).

It would be good to be able to route audio out to Bluetooth HFP so that it cuts out the car radio and plays the alert.
