Still always worth reporting the issues to Garmin as the more people who do this the greater the chance of a fix as software companies tend to prioritise by frequency / severity of issue (amongst other things).
Unfortunately with Garmin it is sometimes down to potluck who reads your e-mail and whether it is escalated. Much like their phone support two different "experts" give two totally different answers - sigh! _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

I can confirm "wibbley" its not a POI issue, as I never got around to loading them on the first one, and because of this on-going issue I have not loaded any on the second one.
I had noticed that turning off layers and features like "up ahead" helped (but didn't cure) the problem, but hey its features like that that I bought it for other wise I might just as well stuck with my Nuvi 300!.
It only does it when routing on a long journey, err that's why I bought a sat nav!
If it is a processing issue then Garmin should either replace the units or give us our money back regardless of how long people have owned them because it was obviously not "fit for purpose" when we bought them and Nowhere in the instructions' or specification on the unit does it say "you must only use this or that layer" or "fully turn the unit off when you have finished with it".
I'm sorry Garmin six months ago I would not have heard a word against you, but these units are a disaster and something needs to be done. _________________ Garman i3, Nuvi 300. and now a dissatisfied owner of a Nuvi 3598 LMTD

I've had the odd bits of grey which does look like a redraw issue, especially when it switches from night to day mode and vice versa, you can actually see it redrawing the device.
I only have a couple of poi on the unit, not using the smartlink and don't have pgpsw cameras installed on it.

Garmin would like us to believe that they are, one of (if not) The world leader/s in satellite navigation equipment, yet one of their current premier (and most expensive) models is not fit for purpose! I call that a disaster!
Turning up one way streets, down narrow lanes with a 44tonn lorry or onto railway tracks at a level crossing, we all know is just media hype and sat-nav owners not using a bit of common sense.
Being left high and dry somewhere far from home with a grey screen and no information by the equipment that you bought to navigate you to an unknown place, I call that not fit for purpose. _________________ Garman i3, Nuvi 300. and now a dissatisfied owner of a Nuvi 3598 LMTD

At last a reply from Garmin
"Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe. I am happy to assist you with your enquiry.
We are aware of the ongoing issues with the Nuvi 3598 and are working towards a solution. As soon as we have further details we will be in contact to confirm the solution." _________________ Garman i3, Nuvi 300. and now a dissatisfied owner of a Nuvi 3598 LMTD

They have had 2 software updates in the last couple of months and neither have cured it. _________________ Garman i3, Nuvi 300. and now a dissatisfied owner of a Nuvi 3598 LMTD
Has anyone noticed the new map update seems to have changed the traffic warnings so there is now a grey and striped orange/black warning - don't remember seeing these previously. It also seems to have added a "Position Reporting tick box into the Device settings between EULAs and Travel History.
My other 3598 running the same 4.00 software doesn't show this and the only difference is I haven't updated the maps yet.
Its a newer device from Halfords but DIDN'T come with the extra 4GB memory card - wonder if they have now stopped including this on cost grounds. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70
