Greetings all,

Running the latest Navigon update on my GS3, which was also just updated to Jelly Bean? Or whatever it is called.
I use my old TT720 linked via blue tooth to the GS3 to make my phone calls - larger buttons. Voice comes through the phone speaker as does CA which runs in the background.

This was all working fine until the updates mentioned above.

Now, when I answer an incoming call, and the call is cancelled using the TT720, the screen on the GS3 swings back to Navigon, which then promptly shuts down and reboots itself. Leaving me with the menu screen and having to tap in my route again - not to be recommended when driving at motorway speeds, and I refuse to do it.

Have checked the settings on the phone, Navigon and CA (just in case), can't see anything obvious.

Anyone have any thoughts - other than taking a hammer to everything, which is all I can come up with. Sad

ICS is 4.0.? whilst Jelly Bean is 4.1.? so you should be able to check your phone - I am wall-to-wall Sony( Ericsson) so can't advise exactly how you do that.
It wouldn't surprise me if Navigon have not yet sorted JB and there have been various posts on their Facebook page in the past with problems using bluetooth with Navigon.

My advice is to post on Facebook (www.facebook.com/NAVIGON) and since they always ask for an email (navigon@facebook.com) at the same time to give them full details as in your original post here.

I have been using Facebook to moan at Navigon for years with good results. Don't give up if they are slow to respond - I usually post again in a few days if they don't reply. Don't slag them off and if you complain keep it light and jokey.
The only reason I have a facebook account is to contact Navigon and I have no friends and my page is totally locked down - or should be!

Navigon are totally closed down over the weekend so I suggest you post on facebook asap.

Good Luck (and I will be following any facebook activity you have Laughing ).

Hi c1man,

Many thanks for all the info. I don't have a facebook account, and not going to open one just yet.

As a starter, I have cleared the cache and data, forced closed and then set it running again. Not had a chance to see if it has sorted the problem yet.

i have emailed Navigon help and they replied asking for the details you mention, Navigon version and Android version etc. They also suggest that I uninstall and do a fresh install and see if that sorts it. All very well but it is a pretty hefty download with the maps all the time.

Anyway, will do that first before replying to them.

Bob

I was glad to hear you have been in contact with Navigon by email.

With the Xperia (ICS 4.0.4) I find that even if I completely remove the application and re-install (as I have had to do a few times) then the maps on the SD card are OK and I don't have to reload them. (I usually defragment my SD card after installing new maps and even this doesn't cause any problems.)

However Navigon usually needs a GSM contact rather than wifi initially plus downloading of some basic data (not maps) and I think you will probably have to go through this loop each time you re-install.

Hopefully all this will resolve your problem but Navigon are making a few clangers - as you can see from their facebook page where many IOS users are unable to download maps etc as there is a bug in the Mac version of Fresh - this has been going on for over a week now!

If all else fails and you need bluetooth handsfree (not an unreasonable requirement Laughing ) then you may need to consider going back to ICS Sad .

Keep us posted on your progress.

I don't have any issues running Navigon on my Samsung Galaxy Note running ICS 4.0.4 - but as Samsung are still hanging on to the JB update for the original Note, cannot comment on its compatibility there

As suggested a removal and re-install solves many a problem!

Keep us updated....

Sorry to be so slow, but suffering from some sort of combined flu and / or food poisoning which has me alternating positions between the bed room and bathroom.

Running Android 4.1.2 on the GS3 and Navigon 4.7.1.
After clearing cache, data and force closing, opened Navigon and re-installed maps again.
Ran the App and called my mobile from landline phone. The mobile answered OK and when I closed the call Navigon returned to the map like it should.

So, I know it works fine when the mobile is being used alone.
I need to connect it via bluetooth now and see what happens.
With luck I may have solved it, otherwise next step is uninstall and clear out before re-installing and repeat of above.

Will keep posted.
