Just downloaded to my One. The .ver file has "ver= ", the .tlv has 895.

Typical TomTom sloppyness.

The .ver file has always shown the version number upto now, and .tlv files have usually only been "markers" for TT Home to use to keep track of things internally.
Now they come up with a new delivery system via Home (which isn't working for me) so they break the old system of manual downloads AND wreck the established way to track your version numbers.

Home's telling me the same. Couldn't upload the roundabouts I've added (yet again) either.

I expect it'll get sorted out eventually!

I hesitate to suggest it, but I almost got round to deleting all trace of postcode files everywhere to see if I could persuade Home to offer them to me??

I didn't try it because my first option (Manage Go, Items On Computer) found them where they had gone for the Carminat, and allowed me to put them on the GO550. I assume that option is not available to you through a successful download for another device?

Installed the new maps, then proceeded to make two corrections I've been making every time for the last 18 months...

It worked for me on my Go 700 and I manually added 895 after the = on the postcode VER file, which seemed to work ??
It seem to be read ok on the dutch postcode VER file

But adding the text "895" doesn't actually MAKE them v895 postcodes!
You can add any text you like to the ver file, it's only for information.

So TT could have pushed any old version to you... a lot of people think they are still the same as v890.

I think I may have seen "Navigate to postcode" as an update in MyTomTom, but no sign of it in Home for any Nav2 models.

Anyone able to post the files up on the web? I wouldn't mind comparing file sizes with the previous versions.

OK. I've had a quick look and the size change seems to be down to different header info.

Can I just repeat that I now have only one file, not the previous three separate ones (GB, Netherlands and Singapore). So I think comparison of before and after file sizes may not help.

I have..

Great_Britain.Postal 9.2MB
Great_Britain.tlv 661 bytes
Great_BritainPostal.ver 54 bytes

It does navigate to postcodes in Netherlands and postal areas in France (zip folder in Internal root, Euro map on Micro SDHC card).

You could try a code that reflects the date you got them eg 0812, then you could keep track of the updates?
