Hi, tomtom has sent me an email with an offer of 25% off maps. Now reading this it seems to me that I buy the latest map plus 4 updates over the next 12 months for £33.75, does this sound right or do they mean £33.75 for 1 map?.
Its not realy clear.
This is what email shows/tells me, UK map.
Latest map available now + Febuary, May, August, November = £33.75
When I look at their site it doesn't tell me much or difference if this is the price.
Can any-one shed light on this for me please?.
I'm only interested in the UK maps.

You may find you are being offered the Map Update Service, which gives you the latest map and the next four maps for the next 12 months. The latest map is v880 (or 8.80 depending which way you read it), so you should not yet have that.
£33.75 sounds about right - it's usually a small amount less than the price for a single map (yes, that's what I said, less for four maps, than for one map). And I guess 25% discount would be about that price. _________________ Dennis

I was recently offered a 50% discount on the 1 year Map Update Service for UK&RoI, plus one extra update, for £22.48.
The invoice says the normal price for one year is £44.95, so with a 25% discount it would be £33.71. They're charging you 4p for the latest map! _________________ Anita

On the TT website for UK they are charging £29.25 for the map and £33.75 for the map + 4 updates. _________________ Garmin Drive 51LMT-S EU

Maybe "25% off maps" means TomTom have decided to drop a quarter of the roads off the latest map _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

You download it and it's immediately installed for you onto your device - time taken depends on speed of your broadband and if the TT server is under heavy use. For my UK & Ireland map, it's usually only a couple of minutes because it's small. Europe is longer (for some people MUCH longer). I would expect it to take not too long as the new maps have already been downloaded by most of us a month ago, so not much traffic on the servers. _________________ Dennis

You mean MyTomTom? (Home doesn't work for a Go1000)

How did you get on? If the map still isn't showing for download, contact TT on 08451610009 and ask them where it's gone.
They should be able to put it onto your account straight away. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Tried to copy the e-mail in to this post but keep getting a "HTML tags not allowed" error |

Bad move! I suggested you use the phone for a reason... If you email them, you usually waste your time with two or three "copy and paste" replies from them that don't address your particular problem. I bet your reply said to reset the device and if that didn't work to do a return to factory settings?

Often that's just because they use the "greater than" symbol as an arrow between menu items, and that symbol isn't allowed in forum software.
Replace those in the text with something else and it might work.
Otherwise just go through it and remove anything which isn't plain text. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Andy
I was surprised for the quick response to be honest, basically they advised that I closed Mytomtom, deleted the Tomtom 3 folder in windows which was under app data/local and then try again. I've contacted them again and they've now asked for application version of the tomtom, map version, S/N and browser type. Recently switched to Chrome browser. Could that affect my download?
I'll try that and if it doesn’t work I'll give them a ring, |
