Nuvi: avoid toll/congestion charge when planning route?

I have been a Tomtom users for many years and looking to change my GPS to Garmin.

I've been doing a lot of research and like the Garmin's with the included TMC and have a shortlist of 1390T; 2360T. (i don't really need a 5" screen)

I live on the boarder of the London congestion charge zone.

On the TomTom when planning a route it asked me if I want to avoid toll roads at the time it is calculating the route. Of course you can set the gps to always avoid a toll. On the garmin nuvi 2360 manual I see that "berried" in the settings is an option to avoid tolls permanently.

Does the Garmin Nuvi provide an option to notify or toll charges for each journey and they give an option to accept or reject? (I don't want to have to check the settings everytime I plan a route).

Short answer is no. Also note that if you plan on using routes with multiple vias the 13xx series cannot do that, you would need a nuvi from the 14xx series so it depends on what you mean by a 'route'.

oh that is a shame.

quite a nice feature to give an warning on toll charge roads. e.g. sometime you want to use the m6 toll other times avoid.

I agree, it's the one feature I miss from my old Mio, which before calculating the route gave you options like fast, shortest, toll, no tolls etc
