44x44 icons on Garmin 1300 nuvi

I have been attempting to install the 44x44 icons on my 1300 nuvi with no success to date. Could this be because Garmin will not accept them or do I need to delete the standard bmps first? Any suggestions would be appreciated

AFAIK, the maximum size is 24x24, that's the maximum size I got on a 3760, if I try the big icons I just get a dot appear instead.

24 x 24 icons are the max. When i tried 48 x 48 on Garmins before it onlys displays one corner of the icon.
