If possible, is it an advantage to delete the "inbuilt" Navman POI file that is supplied with the S50?
I have looked at the size of the various files within the S50 but am not sure which files is which.
I feel that if it is not being used (I have very little use for the supplied POI function) then maybe, just maybe, the unit will operate more efficiently.
If having the POIs and their files do not materially affect the operation of the GPS, are there other files that are not needed? Now that I have installed the speed camera DB from this site, is the Navman supplied Speed Camera DB required or is it just extra baggage that should be "disabled" in some form or other?
Or should I take the approach .... "if it is not broke, don't fix it"?
Regards,
Bob

Hello Bob,
The preloaded poi's are in the \navman\POIs folder. They start with the country code i.e UK, FR, NL
If you just delete them then you will get the error some maps failed to load correctly. they also need to be removed from the Maps high file.

Hello "My Capitain",
But is there any advantage in deleting them or is it just an academic exercise that I am considering?
Does deleting them from the Maps high file overcome the error message or do you have to learn to live with that?

Hi Bob,
I am still looking on trying to remove the error message. So far i have not noticed any advantage by removing the points of interest, the on difference is the error.

CaptianDrift, your reply says it all.
If there is no difference, then there is (probably) no advantage. I was thinking along the lines of speeding up the unit and maybe freeing up some memory space for other functions.
The answer for me is to leave everything as it is.
Thanks for your guidance,
Bob
