TomTom 930 battery life woes

Having similar problems with my new 530 which I want to use in pedestrian mode and also on my scooter that has no easy way of plugging in the charger.
One thing I am noticing is the battery is losing charge rapidly when the device is off.
I would look at fitting a new battery but experiences with my 910 have indicated that the high spec batteries on ebay are not actually any better than a duff TomTom battery.

I've had 3 TomToms over the years best battery life was the 700. Might try a Garmin next time.

If my nuvi 765 is anything to go by then it isn't much better. Battery life of about 2hrs in use at best.

Tomtom Battery life is a bit like my internet provider Virgin Media. Up to 8Mb but I'm lucky if I get 1Mb.

App 8.010 gave a good battery life. It all went pear shaped when they brought out 8.15 with the stuttering voices. Since then the "cure" has resulted in reduced volume and pathetic battery life. Useless!!
