I'm very tempted by this. Do we know yet how often the cameras are updated? And do we have to wait for a full app download or is there in-app camera updates?

Don't know the answer to this as yet but I have asked.

Couldn't resist any longer! Gone and bought it. Just off for a trial run now.

Does anyone know if the additional peripheral will be on sale in the UK?

Posimotion have confirmed they are currently shipping the G-Fi to UK customers from their US E-Store at $99 (Approx £59 + shipping). They are also looking to supply stock that Geolife can sell direct in the UK.

Hope that answers your query?

Pleased with Navmii so far. Though I missed on the comparison chart that there is no Alternate Route/Detour facility. Have emailed them to ask if they plan it for the future.

One of the huge pluses, and one of the best things about new entrants, is that they listen to suggestions and are keen to improve.

The likes of TomTom et al are now faceless corps but Navmii are a small team and you can often get your suggestions passed direct to those who code the end product.

Omissions such as this will I'm sure be making an appearance in later releases.

I note a comment in the new Navmii forum area about route calculation and ETA's. I've not yet had an opportunity to evaluate Navmii on a route but I'd welcome comments as to the routes chosen and their ETA's and if they compare well with others?

Yes Darren I've emailed them a few times and had a very quick helpful response.

FYI They have told me that they will be introducing an in-app download facility for the camera updates.

This is an excellent and very real opportunity to get an app that does what we want it to and offers all the core features we need/want.

Geolife are following the thread so post suggestions, improvements or errors here and we can work with them to get a great app.

If we can keep the ideas reasonable and achievable!

Good to hear Geolife are following this thread and want to improve the app.

Following on from the lack of an Alternative Route facility, one feature I would love to see if/when they introduce it (which few other apps seem to have), is that when it has calculated a route it goes straight to show you the route overview. Then you would have the option to accept it or ask for an alternative (with an option to go recalculate the original). Most apps seem to jump straight into nav mode with it's chosen route, and you have to go back through the menus to first see the route it has chosen and then ask for an alternative.

TomTom do that (show a route overview) and I agree its nice to have and gives you the re-assurance that it is taking you where you wanted to go!

It works from the iPhone. The 99dollar thing is only for iPod Touch.
