OK I give up. Please post the link where I can download the latest TomTom map data and the source code of pocketgpsworld.com as I want to set up backpocketgpsworld.com but I don't want to have to pay for it. Smile

Hi All
Where I think this would be usefull is withing autoroute & Google earth
manys the time you know where your going! but dont know how to put a postcode too it and lets face it it's the easiest way of inputing to satnav's
just be nice if you point to the spot you need to go and up pops nearest post code for you.

Anyway throw it up in the air and lets see what you think?

I have taken on-board some of the comments made here by NickG. Whilst reporting the 'leak' is something I think was justified, posting the direct link was on reflection unwise.

If it transpires that the database is indeed RM's then we will treat it as we would any other pirated data/software subject.

Regardless, any requests in the forums for a converted file from the original data or offers of a converted file are not acceptable and we would have to take action against any such posts.

So if you have the file, consider the copyright implications and if you don't, please don't ask for it or converted versions of it in these forums.

Thank you for your advice on adding to Google earth I now understand how to get them in there,But I seem to have some problem with the file conversion program PoiEDIT, As I get the message as follow everytime I try to open a csv file..
'latitude' is not a valid floating point value
any help please. My Headings are Postcode longitude latitude

try a semi-colon on the header row to 'hide' that row? eg: ;latitude,longitude,details

a 'floating point value' means, essentially, a number with a decimal point maybe it is reading the text thinking it is a number and failing. so by adding the semi-colon you will tell the software to ignore that line

o/k and thanks for taking the trouble to try and solve My problem of the floating point. I have tried the method as you say of placing a semicolon in front of the line but its still complaining that its not a valid point. could there be some hidden chars. on the line I cannot see?

In the File Open Error Pop Up, can you see, at the bottom, "Try with following format: Navman Comma Seperated?

If you can, what happens when you Click OK?
