Hi,
Been using this for a couple of days and very pleased with it.
I have a JB iPhone and want to SSH the PGPS cams to the phone.
When I download the CSV file from here, which one do I download? Is it the Single file, Consolidated by type or Speed zoned complete?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers, Rich

Hi,
Anyone got an answer for this question please? Before I go and put the wrong file in and mess up my co-pilot
Cheers, Rich

I downloaded: Other - CSV UK single file all cameras

that file doesn't contain directional data. you will have a better experience using the copilot 7 file set :D

HI Darren
Did you create your own routing profile? The default ones seem to be set at quite low speeds.

how do you do that?

took a trip to southampton and back yesterday to try out Co-Pilot.

Pros
Nice clean and colourful display
Quick startup time (app loading)
neat motorway sign visualisation and lane guidance.
clearish voices - non shocking "There's a f**king speed camera, slow down you idiot" warnings
Nice speed camera/vs current speed display.
easy to add POIs on a jailbroken phone

Cons
framerate isn't that smooth
Seemed to recalculate a few times, even when on a straight road
Text can be a bit small

Battery usage was about 20% on 40 minute journey so not bad. Will buy a car charger sometime this week.

Overall, very impressed and means I can get rid of my TomTom One

Hey all,
Just go this working last night finally. I had the issue of being kicked back to home screen when trying to create an ID.

Tried it out this morning and was quite impressed other than the backlight being dimmed. I found that even though plugged into a power source and showing as charging, when the battery was not 100% it would dim the light, once the battery was 100% the backlight stayed on...Not sure if that is the reason behind it or had something to do with the time of day but fairly annoying trying to tap the screen evey 60 seconds Confused

Look forward to the update with safety cams etc etc... would be nice to have an independant volume control seperate from the ipod music too

monkey, select iphone settings / general / auto-lock / never and see if that helps.

Don't forget to change back afterwards, or you'll drain your batteries. Smile

I'm having a hard time convincing the copilot folks this is the problem. But I know it works for me so far.

Hey gyre

Thanks, I'll give this a try later, however, not something you really want to do every time you go somewhere when it should just work.

Have not had this problem with dimming mine stays on all the time and it is not set in the NEVER position on the Iphone, the only time it dims down is when I have the Ipod on then it stays dim until a track changes or I change a track by using the remote control on the Kensington Liquidaux.

No problem with dimming here either. Are you using a charger and if so what make?

I'm using a new model griffin ipod roadtrip. Provides secure holding of the iphone, plus fm transmitter on 3 frequencies plus power.

In my case, I think it is the combination of another app running... the ipod... and the satnav application.

I keep the ipod app running so that I have a continual stream of sound coming out of the iphone which keeps the attached fm transmitter active.

If I don't have the ipod app running, after 1 min of silence, the transmitter switches off, and I then get hiss on the car's radio and no audio.

(Also.. the kids like to continually listen to music while I drive. Smile)

So yup, it could well be the combination of running other apps at the same time as the satnav app. A theory I saw on another web site is that the ipod app plays with the 'always on' setting of the iphone. perhaps for each track.

Whatever it is... it's annoying to have to tap the screen every so often to see the map Smile

Edit: as an aside, is it possible to put an 'io play' unit in a car, and NOT use its associated bluetooth transmitter dongle? i.e. use the iphone itself to talk to io play's bluetooth receiver?

Yes, the built-in Bluetooth of the iPhone 3G or 3GS works great with the IO Play or iO Talk. You only need the bluetooth dongle for an iPod.

The iO-Play Bluetooth dongle also adds AVRCP support to the iPhone which lets you skip tracks back or forwards as required from the iO-Play control unit. But otherwise its not really needed as the iPhone once running OS3 or higher offers the A2DP stereo bluetooth support which the iO-Play kit is quite happy to use.

I still consider the iO-Play kit the best gadget I have fitted to my car in quite a while, the sound quality is considerably better than anything an FM transmitter can offer and never needs re-tuning as you travel around the country - Mike

i have the ipod playing at same time as copilot and haven;t seen the dimming issue. i have my phone set to autolocak after 1 minute but it's never cut out when running copilot - i presume the app overrides that setting anyway.
