These are quite common throughout the country. On the database from here they are labelled "Redspeed" and are in the gatso category based on the speed limit for passing through on green.

It seems a bit of an irrevelent posting if you pass at red you get fined if you pass on green above the speed limit you get fined, the rules apply in all cases, coomon sense applies.

The list quoted is not of all the "Red/Green" cameras - look closely and you'll see there are only two listed, the others are normal redlight cameras. On Holes Bay Road, which is reasonable to expect as it can be a bit of a tempting racetrack.

We do, of course, have these two on our database, RedSpeed 8985 and 28625.

As far as I know, they can't use the original "like Gatso but taller and thinner" redlight cameras for speeding too, they need to be replaced by one of the newer digital types.

Not these:

...but these:

Perhaps a suggestion GPSWORLD should do a seperate warning for REDSPEED cameras on the database so at least i can then do a seperate alert for them. I know the laws just changed about monitrons doing both speed/redlight. My job is driving and i see these monitron cameras at red lights but they are indicated on database as speed cameras when infact there are no measurement markings at lights.

Quote from Dorset Safety Camera Partnership website...
Quote:
drivers will notice that there are now secondary check lines on the road at applicable junctions.
So if they don't have the white road markings running through the junction as with all Gatsos, they're not speed cameras, just Redlights.

That would require another SEVEN categories (20-70 mph and TBC), and wouldn't give any extra benefits as far as I can see.
The way it should be working is that if it is a redspeed camera, you get notified as if it was a Gatso - with the correct speed limit indicated.
And if it is a simple redlight camera, you get the normal redlight cam. warnings.

If you really want to split them all out into separate categories, you can always use POIEdit to do it yourself.

7 for uk (20 30 40 50 60 70 TBC)
14 for eu (20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 110 120 130 TBC)
14 for usa (20 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 75 80 TBC)

so potentially 35 extra files
