I have tryed using this software on a journey but i have no lane arrows, i have a sign at the motorway junction that tells me the destinations for the road i am supposed to be on but no signposts like thos shown on the app store. Am i missing something or are these signposts and lane arrows only on the demo at the moment?

Welcome to the forum, are you sure you have Lane Assist enabled?

Menu/ Settings/ Lane Assist make sure the checkbox is selected at the top and that the distances are what you are happy with I use On at 0,5 Miles and off at 0,1 Miles.

Not all road junctions will have Lane Assist information available for them though - Mike

Thanks Mike for your help. I have done as you say but even on the Motorways i do not actually get the arrows that tell you what lane to be in. The picture in App. Store shows yellow arrows on the road you should take and two seperate signposts with arrows underneath and the sign you should not take dulled out. All i get is a single signpost with no arrows anywhere is that what you get?

I have got PGPSW speed cams working on iPhone Copilot, and the software seems great - I finally broke and had to buy it instead of waiting for TomTom.

I have a jailbroken 3G and used 'IPhone browser' to load the csv files. It seems a bit buggy installing them (copilot froze at the loading screen whilst 'integrating the update' and I had to cancel it a few times but eventually it loaded it all). They need to be dropped into /User/Applications/14c33332-5f3c-442b-9fbb-1d3b93dfc9d7/Documents/EU/save

If you want to remove them they are imported into a subfolder of the above - /user_places/pocketgps_uk_gatso for example (one folder per csv).

Different subfolder under "Applications" here but they are on and working Very Happy
SpeedZoned Complete would be better if available as .csv format. Are they available?

Nice work mate but I want more Cool

Maybe TomTom .ov2 Cams has spoilt me. Then again CoPilot just blows TomTom out of the water now and I don't think they will match it let alone better it as it would be on their own devices before any mobile phone.
If they have such a worthy product then lets see it NOW and for £25.99.

I bet they are shaking in their boots Laughing Out Loud

You have the speed zoned data within the Consolidated by type file set, all you need to do is sort it out into the different speed categories, although do you really need to do this?
As for the different sub folder within the apps folder this will be different for everyone, you have to open a few folders up until you recognise the sub folders within it - not easy if you have loaded hundreds of apps! - Mike

Cheers Mike

No probs here finding what I need. One icon for SpeedCam POI's is a bit tame as I like to know what's ahead, as with specific TomTom warnings that can be set up seperately, and also have different icons as such.
I can live with that if its a constraint of what is possible in CoPilot.

Quick responce and I thank you for that as I know you dudes keep your finger on the pulse.

If CoPilot want a even better product then I am sure some development guru at their end monitors this forum on a regular basis. If they read it they might react.

I for one want to see what TomTom come up with in responce. That will be very interesting.

@ jonmuss

The 'full' Lane Assist feature only works if the phone is in Landscape mode.

If not it's a mildly disappointing arrow at the top of the screen instead.

Steve

Edit

If anyone tries this 'Live' let me know if it looks OK, because in 'Demo' mode my display looks all corrupted!

Hi all, when your outside using your copilot could you tell me when you go to Settings - GPS how many of the 4 or 5 squares under the GPS icon are green?

I've been out today and only 1 was green and the rest were yellow. Before setting off on the return trip I had time t play with so sat stationary for more than 5 minutes with the phone on the dashboard and still only one green square.

So what do you get and should I get more than one green?

Thanks in advance.

I also have just 1 green square, for the sats.

Yesterday I had the screen dimming issue but not today.

I get the lane guidance pictures in landscape mode ..

I use a Griffin Itrip and the direction sound volume is just right and is seamless when listening to pod-casts and music...

I don't personally think that the satellite icon is 'live' i.e. it's always one green bar with three yellows.

Page 12 of the copilot 7 manual has the same icon with the same pattern as does the 'Checking the GPS status' section on page 43 of the same manual.

So unless proven otherwise I think that it is just that way permanently.

PS

Anyone tested 'Lane Assist' live yet? (See about 4 posts above)

Thanks for your reply Steve. The results that i outlined was in landscape mode. When i was actually going down the M5 for over an hour!!!

I just had the one blue sign at the junctions with no arrows below or yellow arrows on the road i should take and only thr one 'Sign'.

I cannot find any other settings to change this and my screen does not look like the one on the App. Store.

If someone knows how i can get lane guidance to work that would be great!

Jon

@ Jonmuss

Bit Odd?

Not tested mine on a run yet but it works on demo although the graphics look a bit corrupt.

Will report back tomorrow after a try out.

Have you tried setting a demo and giving it a go to see what happens?
