Hazzamon, you may want to try again. I subscribed to the Map Update Service (Western and Central Europe) and when I connected my GO920 just now and checked for updates the new map was offered to me. Very Happy

The bad news is it's forecasting a download time of 2hours 40 mins - actially that's not bad for a 2Gb file. Thumbs Up

does that mean for a 940 it would also give you a new USA map or is this just a Western Europe release?

TomTom Map page shows a new USA map 8.25

Just checked again, it's not showing. Perhaps, considering limited server bandwidth, they are trying to get the bigger maps out of the way before they start supplying smaller more-localised maps.

Hazzamon, I think you are being too kind to TT. You have already pre-paid for this map, you should not have to wait for it.

You may want to double check that TT has recorded your MUS order correctly in your TomTom account.

You can do this by logging into MyTomTom Click on My Orders and check the MUS is correctly registered.

Think I might get one today.

Does the old rule still ring due that if you have registered a Tomtom device to an email address it makes things alot less complicated if you use a different email address for a new tomtom?

My main email address already has an old go and tomtom pda software registered so I dont want to complicate things.

thanks

TomTom's rule is you MUST have a separate email address for each device. Mike may tell you that you could use a fictitious email address, but if you did that, you'd never get any emails from TomTom (and wouldn't that make you sick?). Laughing

sonypc100, yes TT really struggle if you try to register multiple devices to the same e-mail account. Sad

I had real problem last year when my GO920 was replaced twice. The second time TT Home refused to register it until I could prove second one was a replacement. Twisted Evil

EDIT:
The following from TT Support may also be of interest:

Quote:
You can link one TomTom device to your MyTomTom account at a time.

If you don’t have a MyTomTom account you can create one in TomTom HOME or by clicking here.

Linking a new device to your MyTomTom account

If you replace your device you can update your MyTomTom account in TomTom HOME.

Note: You can only change the device that is linked to your account once every six months and this action cannot be undone. Any services (eg. safety cameras, downloadable maps, etc.) you may have will be transferred to this newly linked device and you will no longer be able to use your services with your old device.

Follow these steps to update your account with a new device:

* Connect your new device to your computer.

* Launch TomTom HOME and log in.

* A window will pop-up stating that the connected device is not linked to your account.
Click Update your account from the list of options.
If this is not possible contact TomTom Customer Support for assistance.

Multiple devices

If you have multiple TomTom devices, you will need to create a MyTomTom account for each device.

You will need a separate email address for each MyTomTom account.

This is quite strange, others are saying that the update to the 825 map have taken up to 2 hours, but I did mine at 18:30 tonight and it took 8 minutes to download 183.5Mb and about 3 minutes to install with a MapShare update of just over 1Mb.

MapShare has changed from 16162 updates with the 815 map to just 2712 updates with the new map.

I thought the 825 was 'the most up to date' you can get!

I lost my Favs of course, but copied the one from my backup of the previous map and went in to the reboot loop. Connected back to the pc and went to 'Operate my Go' in Home and did one or two things, disconnected and tried again and all is fine with all Favourites and Kate as my chosen voice.

I have had to reset the clock, but the Altitude add-in still works. I think I'll have to set up th connection between the TT and phone, but all in all, not a bad experience.

Will check tomorrow after doing a couple of trips in the car.

183MB? I assume that's the UK map? Mine's still not appearing. Well, more specifically, I've only got the non-IQ routes version (for the one/XL models), which I've had appearing since 815 was the most current.

Yes, sorry, I should have said. My TT is a 520 with UK & ROI Map.

So I went and bought a 940 today as the new maps were released and have just connected it. It tells me my maps are more than 2 quarters old and I can buy updated maps but under the latest map guarantee it tells me there are no new updates available!

Any idea how I work round this?

thanks

Hmm, looks like another call to TomTom support is in order for me then. My previous device was an XL, so I wonder if my account has not been properly linked to my 520...
