I use iGO8 on an HP iPAQ 214 and have experienced the controls and the touchscreen freezing for periods of a minute and sometimes much longer.

This happens whilst travelling and occurs with or without an active route. The navigation continues in the background and when the controls finally unfreeze everything is completely back to normal.

So here's the solution: Wink

Download this zip file and extract the contents.

Download ► SendButtons

Copy the "config" folder to the iGO8 folder on the SD Card.
Copy the "SendButtons.cab" file to a suitable location on your device and install it. Then perform a soft reset.

This installs a small utility called SendButtons which detects if iGO8 is running and then sends a regular series of dummy button presses to the operating system. I've found that this is sufficient to prevent iGO8 from freezing since it has to process the button presses at regular intervals.

When running it adds a blue icon to the notification area which turns green when it is active and has detected that iGO8 is running.

It uses very few system resources and can be left permanently running in the notification area.

It should run on any Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0 device which has the .NET Framework 2.0 installed.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, I hadn't realised that the old PdaMill forum had been moved and was active again.

I've added a possible solution for this problem to the first item of this topic. Wink
