Does that mean that we should accept the stuttering voice because there are worst products out there? I for one don’t think so.

No nor is that what I said!

I can see a huge problem for any car manufacture that uses third party electronics that then cause problems.

Don't you think they already use third party electronics? Almost all of the electronic components are third party.

Yes it is to be hoped that such issues are not going to be present on a factory fit install but then again there will always be issues unless you want everything to be tested in house for 5 years before it sees the light of day.

I'm not excusing the issues but I accept they will happen. So long as manufacturers resolve them in a timely manner. Cars are no more immune to bugs than any other product. Many multi thousand pound sat-nav's have bugs too!

Your comments do surprise me. One would have thought that customer satisfaction would be the prime number one priority on any manufacturer’s list.

You would be forgiven for thinking so but if true why are the 'customers' subjected to such appalling treatment once they have bough a new car? Very few manufacturers have embraced the 'customer is king' philosophy.

Why do so few realise that the experience after purchase is as if not more important than the sell? I've had a Jaguar, Land-Rover, Mercedes and none of them could give a hoot when it came to the after sales service, no customer care at all. Faced with issues that I know are common they plead ignorance and so I don't buy from them again.

A relative of mine has a mid-range Toyota and they give him a free courtesy care or drop him at the train station and collect him the next day. All FOC. Common problems are fixed without being asked.

It's not the issues that matter but how they are dealt with. I am constantly amazed that so few businesses of any type recognise that!

Interestingly Renault have chosen not to incorporate gyros instead relying entirely on the GPS signal alone.

Then they will have road speed data with a modern ECU, well I'd like to hope they link that back to the device.
