I'm having an early spring clean of underused "toys" and am wondering if it's worth blowing the dust off the Drivesmart? Is the DS version of the database still being produced and are users finding the system practical?

Right - found all the hardware, installed the Prolific USB/serial driver and downloaded the latest d/b and am communicating through com 5 - now I need some handholding

The DS loader I have is 1.5.0:-

1. There is no "connect" button

2. Can't find any .bin files

3. When I hit the "main database" button the only files enabled for viewing are hex

Wonder what I am screwing up?

Yes I have. I chose Option 2, the purely DS database, but steps 3 & 4 have me stumped. Perhaps someone could supply me with a source of a later version of the loader and a copy of the .bin file?

Many thanks

you don't need the bin file if you are only using the PGPSW database. also, you may need to ask in the forum for the correct Private Loader software - a new thread with an obvious title such as "Anyone got the DriveSmart Private Loader software?" would probably do the job!
