European Maps - Please help me get them working !!

I installed a section of France from the European map disk (onto the ICN's SD card), but I cannot select a destination in France.

When attempting to set a route destination, I cannot modify the country from "United Kingdom".

The Settings / Maps section shows / Memory Card settings shows all the map regions I'd like on the card - including the French map, but the French map appears in red and I cannot put a tick in the check-box.

I am travelling to Le Mans today and am relying heavily on this working !

Can anyone help ???
