I wonder if you could get a really fuel efficient car on sponsership and do it for charity??

That'd be excellent. I'd be up for it if I knew where to start.

Throw in a timelapse video, live GPS tracking and just to make it interesting, a non stop endurance drive. Laughing

Quite a journey for a non-stop endurance drive. Maybe the charity money should go to the ambulance driver and the family of 5 killed after the endurance driver hits them while falling asleep at the wheel.

Erm, with iGO8 you also get a choice of Economical and Easiest (Least number of turns), but use the optimise function and the journey would be much shorter, thus saving fuel.

Anyone wish to challenge me by giving a list of towns in the UK, I'll start from my home, so I can input and show the various results?

TT owners can then be Sad Crying or Very sad Mad ( Razz )

Yep. Two things, first I thought Newport may have been in Gwent but couldn't see your route go through Wales so I left that out, secondly you had Derb which I took to mean Derby, otherwise I think I put them all in.

I tried the 'Routing Method' function where iGO gives you the info for Fastest, Shortest, Economical and Easiest but it appears only the first page of places is calculated e.g. Fast 406 miles 6h51, Short 369 8h27, Eco 384 6h56 and Easy 406 6h51. Whoops.

I then did them one at a time.

Following your list of places.

Fast 1920m - 43:51
Short 1705m - 52:41
Eco 1800m - 44:26
Easy 1954m - 44:05

I then optimised the route.

Fast 1910m - 44:29
Short 1712m - 54:04
Eco 1831m - 45:02
Easy 1937m - 44:38

Which looking at the results don't make much sense.

Only on Fast and Easy apparently.

Me and my big mouth. Embarassed

It would be interesting to see the results from other devices.

I wish I had EU maps on my 760. I'd give it a spin. When I used both the HP310 with IGo, along side my 760, and optimized both routes for my U.S. sales calls, the Garmin pretty consistently produced a more efficient route. Used both for about a month and don't recall the HP ever producing a shorter route, but can't swear to it. Just to be fair, I tried driving a sample of each of the recommended results so as not to depend on what the "reported" time was, but instead the actual travel time.
