TomTom BT Rx charging

I have just completed a 1400 mile round trip using TTN3.
I managed to forget my mains charger for the TomTom BT Rx but, as I have a powered Arkon mount with a 5V take off and a matching lead, I wasn't too concerned BUT
using this method, the Rx shuts down after about 5 minutes on charge and some really screwy things happen thereafter - PDA lockup, PDA time corruption and a soft reset and time change is needed to revover - is this normal ???
In fact TomTom was a complete PITA for this extended driving session. It must be noted that I am using the HP 2210, so all is not ever sweetness and light, but this latest set of troubles has really put me off using the combination. I strongly suspect that it is really (as a combination) not fit for the purpose for which it is intended.
We are going to do another 1000 miles or so this week, but will use my wife's combination of 3970 and Socket BT Rx.
I'll report back next week, but if the 2210 continues to perform this badly, I will not be impressed at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An early answer on the TT Rx charging scenario would be welcomed. We don't disappear again until tomorrow.

Hi!

I'd be very interested to hear any further problems you have with the BT charging.

I have a iPaq 4150 and the arkon mount...I would like to charge the BT receiver frm the arkon...but this has put me off a bit!

Also, does anyone know where I can buy a arkon to TomTom Bt receiver Power cable?
