Hi can anyone help me PLEASE! I have a problem when searching for a postcode in my town. It generates an error message and I have to unplug my unit to restart. I called Navman and they said it works on their units but they have a test version of service pack 2 which is not out yet. I only brought this unit on Monday and wondered if anyone else has this problem.

Go to postcode search
then input postcode HP1 1
then road is Melstead road
then number 4
this is where the unit crashes for me! Is this a problem with my software or the unit itself.

I thought it might be to do with the map being on my SD card but I also installed it on the unit and got the same message!

HELP!!!! PLEASE!!! Thumbs Up

Hi there

There are problems with the iCN as you have reported. Several months ago I had a similar occurence but not via the Postcode option. I was looking for an address in Timsbury using BA2 0. I found this was not recognised so I went to the address option. This was OK up until I tried to input the house number. On doing so the screen locked up and a Red band appeared at the top giving an error message. The only way I was able to clear the screen was to remove the power lead. I tried this several times with the same result on each occasion. Fortunately I phoned Navman and the technician tried to input the address I was using and got exactly the same error as I was getting. I was told then that this would be put back to the Software Development team in NZ for investigation. I've never had this happen on any other address but there is obviously a problem with the software.

I'm hoping that this is one that gets corrected in SP2 when it is issued. I've not got time this evening to input the address you quote as it is quite late but I will do it tomorrow and come back to you with what I find.

I can say this though at the time I had my problem a colleague checked it out using my address on his iPAQ and it went in OK, so I believe this could be peculiar to the iCN 630 software.

Regards

alfie

Hi there

Just to confirm I put your address details into my iCN 630 and encountered the same problem as you did. I tried via the Postcode and then via the address both with the same results.

This morning I contacted Navman and spoke to a technician and gave him the same address details, asking him to check it out. A little later he phoned me back to say he found the same error as reported.

As I said last night this is a known problem, which Navman are working to resolve. Should you want you can contact Ryan Hook at Navman and he will talk to you.

I hope this is of some use to you.

Best wishes
