Has anybody managed to get satnav onto a HP iPaq 514 running WM6 ?

I have tried my TT V6.03 and also my wife's TT V5

The cab file installation was unsuccessful.

How have you tried to install them and how far did you get? Did you get to the stage of being asked for a code and if so did you get one from TTcodes?

V6.03 I copied the original folders onto 2GB Micro SD card. Nothing happened when inserted into iPaq, so ran ttn6.cab file. File starts to install then offers options - selected install to device - file continues to install for few seconds then shuts down. iPaq reverts to start screen.

Where did you copy the original folders from? Do you have the original TT SD card or DVD with the TT product code card?

I have an original DVD but I do not want to register a change of device from TT until I know if I can get this phone to run it. Any ideas?

I am afraid that the only way you are going to know if it runs is to run it (unless somebody tells you they have already done it) and the only way to do that is by installing it properly and getting a new code. If it does not work you can still use it on the old device as long as you have deleted it from the new one.

Alternatively you could try posting a question on an Ipaq forum - I think HP link to one from their support page - or at least they do for other devices

I put TTM5 on my little ladies phone, I can't remember which version but it was Tomtom Mobile windows edition. The voice instructions cut off periodically, but she only uses it in situations where I am not there with my tomtom and she's stuck, a waste of money for the map to be honest. When I upgrade to the HTC Touch Pro on O2 she will take my Xda Stellar off my hands and I will have to buy a new map I suppose, but given the fact it has a car cradle and everything there for her she might actually use it more.

I can't see how it would work - TT5 or TT6 rely on a touch screen and the 514 isn't.

I did get a GPS device to connect to my 514 - but that was it. I have no s/w that can talk to it and work with a smartphone type keypad.

It's Tomtom MOBILE. Designed for use on non touch screen devices. There is a Windows Mobile version and a Symbian version.
