Hi

Have the Navman S50 ,works well but I dont like it stuck to my windscreen. I would rather have it attached to a closed airvent, I have tried holding it there and it picks up the satellites just fine. Anyone know if there alternate fixings out there somewhere??

Try Maplin for Hama mounts off the shelf in store or by post http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=hama%20mounts&source=15&SD=Y

I use a Brodit mount for my Navman ICN 530. I liked that so much I got another Brodit mount for my Pure Highway.

I found that the gentleman at this company

very helpful.

I have a navman 550 & having used a dashboard mat mount in California bought one over here from Ebay. Try this link to see what I'm talking about. It really works and no tell tale marks on the windscreen that I have a satnav in the car!

Best wishes

MR

I too have used the Brodit and from the same source as you and have found the service and mount excellent.

A further advantage with the Brodit is both the mount and GPS is 100% secure in the car, normally on the face of the dashboard rather than above it.

By using a Brodit, if you were sadly involved in an accident, the hospital wouldn't be removing a SatNav from your skull first.
Unstable objects above the dashboard in the window area, are not only dangerous if you have a collision, but at some point must restrict your vision.
