POI Database/Settings for LGV Drivers

Hi all

Whilst at the Bike show last week was talking to a guy on Garmins stand who said that 'Truck' vehicle type accuracy was being improved. When asked if it would be within a year he said that he hoped so & went on to suggest that I would also want to upgrade to the 2008 maps.

Today I read in an article in 'Motor Transport' that as from next year Navteq maps would have bridge heights & weight limits, covering the whole country.

So sounds like for those of us with Garmins the next mapping version might just be worth buying !!

this part of Navteq transport with we attended the launch of a little while ago. we have seen this in action and it is very good from what we saw though i only had a quick play with vdo seimens unit i think from memory Q2 next year was quoted so things are looking up
