Voltage supply for external antenna?

I have a GPS-antenna that requires 5 volt supply.
Is it possible to connect it to a Fortuna Clip-On BT GPS or equal?
If I connect external antenna to the GPS will the battery time be much shorter?

yes, you should be able to connect it. The battery drain is moderate, somewhere in the sub-50mA range.
