Well I've had my new CR-V for a week now and I've been quite impressed with the TMC built into the Satnav.

Have driven 1000 miles mostly around middle England and have had a signal all the time.

Info has been OK, used it a couple of times to detour and ignored a couple of times and it's reasonably accurate. Seems a lot more up to date on motorways than the A roads. Managed to dodge an accident on the M6 that had just happened and flashed up on my screen (almost at the same time the gantry signs reported it which is interesting.)

I've used TomTom traffic for a couple of years now and I guess it's on a par with that. Main benefit is it's now free and no more TomTom subscriptions or GPRS costs.

I think Honda use the trafficmaster TMC service so not sure how this compares with the others.

Anyway Happy Days Very Happy

It does use the TrafficMaster TMC system. One of my friends has a 6 month old Honda Accord with sat-nav. The times I have seen it in action it's very good - about the same as my nuvi 660 - which is hardly suprising I guess.

TrafficMaster use fixed sensors on mtorways/main trunk roads and these seem to be very reliable at detecting/informing of problems.

iTis use a variey of sources (like fleet vehicles) so - in theory - they get more coverage - but users on this forum report getting false or incorrect warnings. iTis are looking at using information from mobile phone operators to better track 'problems' - time will tell, but this should be better than at present.
