As from todays release (5.053) there is a version of the database available for iGO software - it is the "text file" version as mentioned in another thread.

Simply select 'iGO' on the downloads page.

There appear to be a couple of anomalies in the PGPSW iGO Speed Camera text file.

Firstly, it isn't in true text format, each line ends in a LF (Line Feed - Hex 0A) only rather than the normal CRLF (Carriage Return + Line Feed - Hex 0D + Hex 0A).

I know that iGO still accepts this but it's non-standard and when opened in NotePad, for instance, it's not formatted correctly.

Secondly, many of the Type 3 RedLight cameras have speed information in the SPEED field rather than 0 (zero).

Again it's possible that iGO will ignore this information if the TYPE field is set to 3 , but for correctness, it still should be set to 0 (zero).

Regards

Strange ?

This is how it displays on three different machines, two WinXP-SP2 and one Vista:

This is with LF's replaced with CRLF's:

Am I doing something wrong ?

ah, think i see the problem here.

i was checking the main file on my system as opposed to the downloaded one.

after downloading the file i get the same issue as you.

i can only assume that the process used for zipping the files on the server messes with the .txt file - certinly i've noticed it with the layout of release.txt

probably nothing we can do, but if the file works wih the igo then it shouldn't be an issue

Yes, it's doing it with all the text files (release and licence text) in all of the PGPSW downloads.

I think your server needs a tweak Wink

Are you using a Unix/Linux based server, in which case the original text files won't contain any CRLF's, only LF's. It's unlikely that the zip is removing them, they're probably just not there to begin with.

Hi MaFt

Any chance of a reply to this second part of the question ?

there is a specific download for the Myguide PND's that will work fine - the myguide units run a similar version of the igo software

Hmmm, my V7 unit doesn't have a USB port to connect to the PC to load these files to the unit.

I copied these to the SD card and reading around I found instructions to 'hack' various files so that you can get WinCE explorer to run. I did this okay a copied the files from the SD to the Flash Disk\MyGuide\POI\SPEEDCAM folder and restarted the unit. All okay.

Short of driving towards a camera over the limit to check that they are working, should I be able to see the cameras in Map or Cockpit mode as I can't see them at the moment?

Okay just back from a week away with my V7 with PGPSW speed cams loaded as advised, but they don't work!! Advice: don't waste your 2 quid if you have one of these V7 units as (sorry MaFt) they are NOT the same as the MyGuide 3000; assuming that some peeps have confirmed that the speed cams work on MyGuide 3000's?? Anyone??

If you use WORDPAD rather than Notepad (type WORDPAD from the RUN command in XP) this allows editing and save as .txt keeping any CR or LF hidden in the file.
