My mad girlfriend wants to buy me a satnav and I really cannot decide which to go for.

I currently have a Talex speed camera detector and find the Talex camera database to be spot on and as I have 9 points on my licence its really important that I get one with an excellent camera database for both fixed and mobile camera sites. I thought of a Talex Sat but they are really expensive and the reviews are not great.

The second thing on my wish llst is TMC.

I only really need UK Maps and have upto about £200 to spend.

Does anybody have any thought of what I should go for?, I am thinking of Garmin 610T.

Thanks for your help....

Garmin, Navman and TomTom are the industry standards. Other less well known brands are often just as good, although I have seen some pretty poor products out there.

The Speed cam data base of this site will work with any of the above and many others, it is pretty accruate.
One thing to look for given your points situation is a unit that is quick and easy to setup. As you cannot leave them in view (even leaving them in the car is risky), yoou will wnt a mount that is easy to release and put back up - some are eaier then others. Also look for a device which turns itself on when the ignition comes on - doesn' sound like much but it is just one more pointless thing to have to do when leaving the parking garage.
