I've downloaded a selection of POI's from the Pocket GPS World POI list and have copied both file types across to the map section (same place I have been uploading the camera database too).

Now the problem ........

Not all the POI's are shown on the 910 but some are .......

I can see Tesco stores but can't see Tesco fuel - likewise, can't see Sainsbury (amongst many others)!

Why! I've spent HOURS trying to sort this out.

Please help!

Hi, Have you exceded the maximum number of Pio's you can have on the sat nav, if you go over this number, the sat nav just won't see them. Sugest you remove some, and see if Tesco's fuel, and Sainsburys appear.

Do you know what the maximum number is - or is it a size thing?

Cheers,

Got it sorted!

Deleted all the European camera locations (I can always add them back again should the need arise!) and hey presto - all the other stuff I want to show.

Thanks Tanda for showing me the way.

Cheers,

100 Custom POI categories is the limit you have to work within on your device, use the option to create combined POI files, consider the Fuel stops, do you really need to know who is the supplier, the same applies to ATM's - which bank is irrelevant when you simply need some cash from the dispenser these two examples can reduce the POI category count considerably - sit down and work out exactly what you need from the device when out on the road - Mike

Cheers Mike.

Is it easy to do? I'm doing a back-up file at the moment and will try later but I assume it is an option in the preference files?

Cheers,

My TomTom ONE, you can have 100 poi's, these do not include the TomTom ones you get with your sat nav, You will have to do a search and see if you can find how many you can have, I vaguely remember its 70, or 100.

When you select the download for the POI files you have the option to combine categories into a single file, POI such as Fuel and ATM's do not need any allegiance to a single vendor so save the Custom POI category count by combining the downloads.

You cannot do this on the device, it must be done at creation, you could use POIEdit on the PC to achieve the same objective - but that is not the easiest option

Re-select what you need using the combine option for the categories that you are not too concerned with - you will find no lesser information available in use on the device

Remember the limit is 100 Custom POI categories, this excludes the in built TomTom supplied POI files - Mike
