I have a 2001 Toyota avensis, with the original"in car" TNS 200 disk in the boot.
Does any one know of a way to get hold of more modern maps?
I am having difficulty finding some newer roads and have a feeling that the maps were based pre 2000!!
Toyota dealers say they will sell me one for approx £115 but I think this is extortionate, and they will not even tell me what year the maps are. They just say that they are the most recent that are available for my reg. Its ridiculous that I could practically buy a "mobile" system with modern maps for this price

There are a few floating about on ebay which all claim to be the 2006/7.

Is it possible to add speed camera databases to this system. And also, where abouts in the Avensis is the actual unit located? I can hear it spin down when I switch off the engine but can't find it anywhere.

I have not seen any options at all to add speed cameras etc to the toyota system.
The CD unit is on the passenger side in the boot in a little grey velcro sealed "bag" with cables going into it. Opening the velcro gives access to the front of the CD eject mechanism.
I havent seen any recent CDs on ebay yet, but i'll keep looking, thanks

usually you cannot add speed camera to fitted systems as the manufacturers do not allow user poi to be added to the system
