I've visited this thread a few times and thought about having the voice alerts but I must admit I was put off by thinking that it was too much trouble.

I can honestly say that having now taken the plunge it took all of 15 minutes to download and reconfigure the warnings on the setup below.

Congratulations and thanks to all of you have been involved in the development and debate. I now have more confidence to maybe try other improvements.

Spikey

Hi,
just caught up with this thread.
After reading every page, I guess that no-one has got this to work with TT Mobile yet?

No as the .ogg option only works with v6. TT mobile is v5, sorry Sad

I have a ttone v 6.560. I understand I dont have to change the datachk file anymore but can not find the file witht the sounds so i can have voice alerts when nearing cameras. I have read this thread but think i might have the wrong idea of whats required. If anyone can help that would be great.

Also have a look at the FAQs Page.

I have read thru this 3 times now and just dont get it. I am usually very good with this sort of this. I can seem to find the voices for 6.560. do i have to download software and make the alerts myself? I upgraded my tomtom recently and the sounds were removed and now I just dont understand it. I have checked the sites and it just takes me round and round.....

please help

Firstly check your e-mail account I have sent you some files that will help (I hope) - the old method used to involve a file called data.chk which you would swap for a modified one, this newer method is better as the warnings remain in place even when the software is upgraded, previously you had to change the data.chk file each time.
You can obtain the required ogg files from the links that are present on the page Richard pointed to above (or check your e-mail Wink . Mike

You don't need to go out anywhere to test it, simply select Advanced Planning (AtoB) and set a depart point and destination point that you know passes a camera (or two) then use Route Demo set the speed to 100% sit back and watch/ listen - Mike

Do a full back-up of your memory card see Here for details.

Delete the files that start with a file name of pocketgps_uk (their file extension will be .bmp and .ov2)

Download, unzip and install to your map folder the Speed Zoned file set - It is upto you if you want to use the pMobile files, if not simply delete them before copying to the device - Note there are no ogg audio files for the pMobile cameras in the folder I sent you - If you do install the pMobile cameras then you will still get an alert but you will have to select which "Sound" Bell 1 etc that you want for these cameras, all the others will have spoken alerts.
A full list of the POI files you need to go with the ogg files is:

pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2

Once these files are on your device make sure the ogg files are also installed to the map folder and re-configure your warnings - then try a test route to see what it does - Mike

I find that providing you do not set a speed beyond 385% the warnings will still sound.
But to be on the safe side try around 350% first.
