Have you tried each of the listed options, once correctly communicating with the GPS the yellow/ blue disk top right will spin.
Failing this what version of TTN have you installed, tap the sat strength meter from the nav screen to find it, if its less than 5,21 I would sugest updating the application. Version 5,21 is still available for download from the tomtom web site - Mike

Mike,

Once again you are Superman!

I hadn't a clue about the revolving disc, when I saw this moving I knew i had a connection, went outside and got a signal in about 40 secs!!

I.m now sitting indoors with 5 medium signals (could not get any with my TT wireless), so pleased as i use it so much.

Thank you very very much. I've done the wi-fi bit now i'm on the setting up the bluetooth!!

Regards, Richard

Has anyone got TT6 working on an o2 Orbit yet?

Ive got the option of changing to Co-pilot live for £50, any advantages?

Non that I can see, it's another navigation package, I have tried it but personally didn't like the user interface - difficult to move around the menu's - probably need to spend more time using it to get used to it - Mike

Hi Mike

On another post someone said they tried TT6 on their Orbit but did not know the code (I didnt think TT supported the Orbit) although it was origanally launched with TT. I wondered if o2 had somehjow blocked its use, however TT5 is working fine! Perhaps the other guy had a Bootleg copy of TT6.

Another point the Orbit seems a lot slower than my HP1940 which surprised me. However I am still amazed by this wonderful peice of kit.

When in the contacts, sometimes when scrolling through I get a large scrollable letter up. I can then scroll to the letter of my choice and hey presto I'm in the T's for example. The only thing is I don't know how I am getting it. Using the wheel or ball seems to do it but I'm not sure. Any ideas, no mention in the O2 guide or HTC's guide.

On my one it comes up if you keep scrolling up or down for a while.

I have a few questions that perhaps some kind person (Mike?) might answer.

I've got the T-Mobile version of the Artemis (so no wifi Sad ) and have since installed TT Navigator 6 myself. There are a few oddities compared to Mike's review:

1. Although the Rollr ball works as described (volume/menu/move around menu), moving the outer wheel has no effect at all in any screen. Is this perhaps because the TT version I have (6.000 (7370)) is older and doesn't fully support the Artemis? For example the GPS had to be set manually with no built-in GPS option.

2. Pressing the 'Start' hard key flashes the Start menu for just an instant and then it disappears. I've found a work around (the 'OK' hard key displays the Today screen), but I wondered if this works on other versions.

3. 'Navigate to Contact' is a nice feature, but TT never seems to understand any address stored in Outlook. Is there some particular way addresses need to be entered?

Thanks

Questions 1 & 2 are probably down to the version you are running, I think 6,020 is only available when pre-loaded to the HTC P3300.
As for item 3 I have long since given up trying to get it working, the address needs to be in a specific format to be compatible with TomTom. I find it easier to simply enter a post code, its faster than re-typing 100s of addresses - Mike

Thanks Mike, appreciate your time.

As an aside, have you noticed what seems to be a bug on this machine? If you try to record a voice tag for the application 'FM Radio', it gets associated as well with 'Download Agent' which rather messes things up!

And I have a 1GB in the T-Mobile C-III version, and a 512 in the P3300 HTC device, no problems with either device at all.
I will be getting a couple of 2GB cards soon as changing the card is a real PITA being burried under the Sim and beneath the battery its not too easy to swap out - thats about the only fault I can level at them, otherwise a great device.
The T-Mobile version is the cheaper one and you don't get WiFi, the O2 version (XDA_Orbit) is fully featured including the WiFi as is the HTC OEM Artemis, not a lot to choose between them, and in all honesty I have not missed the WiFi on the C-III one bit (and it tends to be my daily device at the moment) - Mike
