It is an application for the PC which should have come with your PiN.

Same question, different device. I've just been given the Navman SPiN 100 package as a present. It comes with a bluetooth GPS receiver and the Navman SmartST software (3.50.0042) but apparently nothing else.

There is a user guide on the Navman website which states:

"Navman-formatted POIs (created on versions of SPiN 100 that support the SPiN 100 Desktop POI Editor) can be copied into a MyPOI folder which you will need to create in the Navman program folder (My Device\Program Files\Navman\MyPOI)."

...but no clues as to where to get such a thing.

Thanks,
AdrianR

No idea, I'm afraid. I know diddly about the SPiN.

Me neither (yet) but it seems to be similar to the PiN, i.e. it's a Navman add-on for a PPC, but in this case packaged for non-Navman devices.

I've sent the same question to Navman Tech Support to see what they say.

Other ideas:

- are there any POI converters that write the Navman native format (i.e. what actually goes onto the device, not what needs to be fed into the desktop application)
- try a file containing a couple of POIs copied from some other SmartST device and see if it's happy; anyone got something I could try?

Navman Tech support after initially claiming I should have got a CD with the PC software on have now told me that the SmartST Desktop software, including the desktop POI editor, does not ship with the SPiN 100, and the part of the manual that refers to using it is a cut & paste error.

Somewhat disappointed by this - should I persevere or just put in on E-bay and defect to TomTom?

I dont have the answer but just to say you guys are not alone. I am in exactly the same position. I wonder how many more are out there who bought the Spin 100 under the impression they could add camera locations ?
